So let God work his will in you. Yell a loud no to the Devil and watch him scamper. (James 4:7, The Message Bible)
Zero Tolerance is the practice of applying mandatory enforcement policies for specific offenses, with no exceptions. For example, schools, corporations, and the government have established zero tolerance laws and punishments for weapons and drugs possession, bullying, tardiness, and sexual harassment.
I propose that Christians should adopt a zero tolerance for the devil and his tactics. In this case, I define “zero tolerance” as the refusal to allow the devil the freedom to “steal, kill, and destroy (John 10:10)” us, our families, and our friends.
You see, he is trying to steal everything God has said is rightfully yours as His heir. Satan wants to influence you to live beneath your privileges and to forfeit your peace and joy. He wants to destroy you financially, physically, mentally, and emotionally so that you will not experience Jesus’ gift of abundant life.
What should be your response, Child of God? Zero Tolerance! The second you spot the devil trying to impact your life in any way, put a stop to his activities, with no exceptions. “Submit yourselves therefore to God. Resist the devil and he will flee from you (James 4:7). Shut him down!
For example, when he tells you it is your right to get even with those who did you wrong, resist him. Tell him, “I am going to love my enemies, do good to them who hate me, bless them who curse me, and pray for those who despitefully use me (Luke 6:27, 28).” Then after you say it, do it. Don’t allow him a foothold in your life.
Zero Tolerance means you will not befriend or fear the devil, but will shut him down at every turn with Scripture and by exhibiting the character of Jesus every day in every way. Adopting a zero tolerance policy against the devil guarantees that we have the vic-tor-ry!
