June 17, 2018 was Father’s Day. It was a true pleasure to honor the men of Bread of Life Christian Church. They are a special breed. Why do I say that? Not only are they secure enough as men to have a woman pastor, but they habitually exhibit qualities that reflect the character of God.

Following are just a few of the Godly qualities they display daily:

  • They acknowledge God as their head and do not try to live their lives without Him. Ps. 18:2 – “The Lord is my rock, and my fortress, and my deliverer; my God, my strength, in whom I will trust; my buckle, and the horn of my salvation. We thank God for these kingdom men in our lives.”

  • They are intentionally involved in their children’s lives. Prov. 22:6 – “Train up a child in the way he should go: and when he is old, he will not depart from it.”

  • They never say never; but believe that the impossible can happen.  Phil. 4:13 – “I can do all this through Christ which strengtheneth me.”

  • They believe in the power of prayer. Ephesians 6:18 – “Praying always with all prayer and supplication in the Spirit, and watching thereunto with all perseverance and supplication for all saints;”

  • They love their wives and show it. Ephesians 5:25-27 – “Husbands love your wives, even as Christ also loved the church, and gave himself for it.”

I know that father-child relationships can be complicated. I am aware that not all fathers are in relationship with the birth mothers. Other fathers are helping to raise children who are not their biological children. But that does not stop them from being the best father they can be. Thank you, Bread of Life Christian Church fathers, for showing the love of Christ every day.
