I believe in the power of prayer. I believe we should pray for each other. I believe that praying scripture is very effective.

The Lord told Moses to instruct Aaron and his sons to pronounce the following blessing upon the children of Israel: “The Lord bless you and keep you; the Lord make his face to shine upon you and be gracious to you; the Lord lift up his countenance upon you and give you peace” (Numbers 6:24-26, ESV).

The Priest was to say, “The Lord bless you.” God’s blessings cover a wide scope – in the community of faith and in the secular world; in the temporal and spiritual realms; with good health, fertility, and prosperity. And God would give them gifts of posterity that would continue for future generations.

The Priest was to say, “The Lord keep you.” God is omnipotent and is the ultimate keeper. If His people are willing, He could and would keep them every moment of every day from dangers seen and unseen. He would keep them from falling into temptation and protect them from the evil schemes of others. Also, God has the power to keep them safe until the end of their journey.

The Priest was to say, “The Lord make his face to shine upon you and be gracious to you.” His smile would warm them from the coldness of this old world, and He would renew them from the wear and tear of this life. When God smiled upon His people, he was showing His love for them. When people are assured that God loves them, they can smile in dark situations knowing that He will be gracious to them.

The Priest was to say, “The Lord lift up his countenance upon you and give you peace.” His loving attention was on His people and it brought them peace. Peace means “Peace with God, with thy own conscience, and with all men; all prosperity is comprehended under this word” (Wesley Notes on the Bible).

As Pastor Emeritus and royal priesthood (1 Peter 2:9), I pray that God will manifest this blessing in your life.

My prayer for you – Heavenly Father, hear my voice as I intercede for your people. Bless and keep them. Make your face to shine upon your children and be gracious to them. Father, lift up your countenance upon them and give them peace” I ask these blessings in Jesus’s name. Amen.

Let me know if you receive my prayer for you. #JoinTheConversation.
